Partner repository migration

On Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.8 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.2, NVIDIA drivers previously delivered through Extensions and Supplementary move to Partner Repositories. Systems that stay on these releases and do not enable Partner Repositories can fail updates because of dependencies between NVIDIA drivers and the kernel.

Affected releases

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.8
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.2

Required action

Systems that remain on RHEL 9.8 or RHEL 10.2 must enable Partner Repositories and install NVIDIA packages from that channel. Follow Enable repositories for the repository file, entitlement certificates, and DNF install steps. See NVIDIA CUDA for available content and GPG keys for package verification.

Systems that upgrade to RHEL 9.9 or RHEL 10.3 are migrated automatically.

A simplified enablement path using rhel-drivers is planned. Background is in The new and simplified AI accelerator driver experience on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Note

Exact repository identifiers and entitlement mapping will be finalized with customer access. Treat example paths on the enablement page as illustrative until general availability.
